Wanna get Married? Slow Down and Answer these Questions

Ask Yourselves these Questions:

Am I dependable?
Am I thoughtful?
Do I spend money unwisely?

I have found that in marriage Trust is a powerful influence. If you plan to marry then you are committing your life to one person. The most obvious form of trust in a marriage involves the bounds of monogamy. We trust that our spouse will remain faithful physically as well as emotionally.
This means that, during the engagement stage you must be honest with your fiancĂ© or fiancĂ©e and any “contingency plan” should have been long abandoned. Marriage means that you will not allow yourselves to become involved with other men or women in any manner which would bring harm to the marriage relationship. Define all your relationships from now on. If you become emotionally dependent on someone other than your spouse and God you are setting yourself up to be led astray. Remember that your husband is the head of you, just as Christ is the head of the church.

Realize that your inappropriate involvement with someone other than your spouse will bring pain, dishonor, hurt, and distrust. You will risk losing your spouse as well as your children, your reputation and everything you hold dearly. It is much better to simply “play it safe” and stay far away from danger!

While adultery is one of the most obvious and hurtful forms of breaking trust, there are many other ways on can cause their spouses to not trust them.
