I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made,
your works are wonderful and I know that full well...Psalm 139;14
Whenever I look around, staring atimes into different faces,
I am awed by the artistic brilliance of God. Beautiful people are everywhere from
well chiselled faces to fine jaws, there seem to be no end to God’s ability to
show off beauty in variation. Everyone is distinct in his own way.
Most times, this beauty fades and what remains is who we are
on the inside. I looked at some pictures I took some years back and I have to
agree I have changed a little. However, much as this reminds me that beauty is
not eternal, I have come to embrace the changes in a matured way, I love the
story my ‘not so white’ eyes tell, I know my skin might not always feel baby
soft.
Motherhood has agreed with some women more than it does others.
One would wonder however at the recent
wave of celebs, showing perfect abs and bodies after a few months or weeks of pregnancy,
if that is what holds for the average woman. Well, what can I say? Science keeps getting
better but nature can’t be held back.
I came across an article on a photographer,Jade Beall who undertook a
project to show off the real post body baby and I felt it nice to share as i have never seen anything that captures this stage of a woman's life better.
It is a reminder of how beautiful imperfect is. I hope a mum reads this and stops beating herself up.
